The Front Line
wind ensemble Duration: 6' Grade 4 Katherine Bergman Music © 2022 Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, frontline healthcare workers have shown strength, perseverance, and true heroism in the face of immense challenges. Hospitals were overrun, understaffed, and low on critical supplies, but nurses, doctors, and support staff endured with grit and selflessness.
The arrival of the COVID-19 vaccines brought a glimmer of hope, but that hope was soon overshadowed by new variants and public doubt and misinformation. After the vaccine rollout, many of the severe cases in hospitals could have been prevented, but despite frustration and exhaustion, healthcare workers continue to persevere. The Front Line aims to recognize the relentless efforts of our frontline healthcare workers. The music illustrates the initial start of the pandemic, and then builds into three waves, with an interlude expressing hope and longing for a "new normal."
